Halki Summit II – Session I

Tempest Williams

The Halki Summit II got off to a powerful start with the words of author, conservationist and activist, Terry Tempest Williams. Williams shared her journey to becoming a writer and the role art and theology played in that journey. “The best and most powerful art respects our deepest and most honest humanity…art wants us to discover ourselves.”

Following Williams’ presentation, Alisha Anderson shared segments of her project, Mountains That Never Rest: a story of the Oquirrahs. The story telling project was a year-long endeavor to know the Oquirrh Mountains. Learn more at: http://www.oquirrh.org/
