Halki Summit II – Session II

On the afternoon of day 2 of the HalkiSummit, Terry Eagleton offered a challenging address on the relationship between nature and humanity. Eagleton reminded participants that this conversation is not always peaceful or easy, but that there is a communal responsibility to reflect and consider the human impact on the natural world. “The source of our splendor is also the source of our sickness; you can’t have the one without the other”. Eagleton’s remarks were followed by a lively response and conversation among Summit participants.
