Jeanne Knights is a theologian with interest in the Primacy of Living Holiness as a Theological Source. She studied theology at Lancaster and Cambridge, working especially in the Russian tradition. In The Spiritual Inheritance of Sarov Initiative, she led the Living Testimony Programme, gathering memories from people whose lives bridged the interval between the closure of monasteries and churches in 1927 and their reopening in 1991. This visual history resulted in two films. An English translation of the 1903 edition of the Chronicles of the Seraphim-Diveyevo Monastery will soon be published. Currently, under the spiritual leadership of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, and working with Metropolitan Kallistos of Diokleia, she is directing The Holy Gardens of Patmos Project, developing a series of Holy Gardens witnessing to the way we relate our lives, livelihoods and relationships to the earth, a witness to the healing of our planet, each other and ourselves.
