Donald Reid
Donald is a priest in the Scottish Episcopal (Anglican) Church currently working as a hospice chaplain, having previously worked in parishes in Greenock, Glasgow and Edinburgh and as university chaplain in Glasgow.
For seven years he was director of the Festival of Spirituality and Peace now established as a world class interfaith multicultural festival, tackling issues of climate change and other global justice issues.
He was the first Director of the Scottish Civic Forum, promoting civic participation in post-devolution Scotland and overseeing the Scottish Government’s public consultation process on sustainability, ahead of the Johannesburg summit in 2002.
Other significant roles have included founding and chairing the Jubilee 2000 Scottish Coalition and as a director of Jubilee 2000 – campaigning for the cancellation of poor country debt as a way of marking the millennium, as co-convener of Edinburgh InterFaith Association and director of the Scottish InterFaith Council since 2009 (now InterFaith Scotland).
