Rev. Dr. Augustinos Bairactaris

Fr. Augustinos Bairactaris serves the Orthodox Church of Greece (Crete) and is Associate Professor of Ecumenical Studies at the Patriarchal Ecclesiastical Academy of Crete. He studied at the University of Thessaloniki, the Institute of Higher Theological Studies in Chambésy (Geneva), the University of Fribourg, and the Bossey Institute (World Council of Churches). He serves as the general Secretary of CEMES (Center of Ecumenical, Missiological and Environmental Studies, Metropolitan Panteleimon Papageorgiou) and is a member of Societas Oecumenica. He has published six books and over twenty articles in several languages. His academic research focuses on Christian unity and theological dialogue as an ecumenical challenge, the contribution of the Orthodox Church in the ecumenical movement, and eco-theology.
