Rev. Dr. Daniel Benga
Fr. Daniel Benga is Professor of Liturgics, Patristics and Ancient Church History at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. He was born in 1972 in Recea, Romania. He studied Orthodox theology at the University of Bucharest (1990-1994), receiving his Magister at the same faculty (1995) and his Doctorate in 2000, as well as his Ph.D. in 2001 at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg. He has served as assistant lecturer and assistant professor at the University of Bucharest (2001-2014) and Professor of Church History in Bucharest (2014-2017). He has also served the parish of St. Stephen in Bucharest (2001-2017). Since 2017, he has been Professor at the Orthodox Theological Institute of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich.
